NOTE: This material was for testing under Prometric system. Now the testing system is changed to Pearsons. So this material is not up to date, although it will help you a lot.
So don't rely fully on it.
In last post I told you about the refernce books recommended by Saudi Commision for Health
Specialties for the preparation of licensing exam.
In this post I will guide you about the preparation of SLE and provide you with some useful
material that include some books and self compiled notes for preparation of the Exam.
Pharmacology:
You already know that 50 % of the questions i.e 35 MCQs are from Pharmacology, So mind it
that you must have better grip on this subject. To prepare Pharmacology I recommend you to
study completely; "Lippincott's Illustrated Reviews: Pharmacology, 04th or 5th Edition".

Click on pic above to download Lippincott Pharmacology.
|
Give special attention to the chapters; ANS, CNS, CVS & Antimicrobial therapy (Antibiotics).
Download the notes by clicking here , (Power Point notes) for quick Revision of Pharmacology
after Preparation.
(Thank you to Khurram Abbas, who compiled and send the notes).
Download notes in Microsoft Word format from here.
Pharmaceutics
& Biopharmacutics:
20 % of the questions i.e 15 MCQs are from Pharmaceutics & Biopharmaceutics.
Prepare Biopharmaceutics from the chapters given at the start of Lippincott Pharmacology &
notes given in Pharmacology section. No need to prepare BioPharmaceutics from Shargel.
No special need to study Pharmaceutics, just go through the main basic things.
Do not forget to memorize Latin Abbrevations used in Dispensing, e.g. b.i.d, p.o etc.....
Consult the notes of Khurram Abbass that are provided in Pharmacology Section for these abbrevations. There are 2-3 MCQs from abbrevations.
Pharmaceutics questions are usually repeated in every exam and are very much simple.
Just go through the notes containing 400+ MCQs whose download link is provided in the end of this post.
Pharmacy
Calculations:
There will be only 05 MCQs which contain calculations.
Go through the notes containing 400+ MCQs whose download link is provided in the end of this
post to have an idea about the type of calculations.
These marks are solid if you choose the correct answer. If you have time, go through main
chapters from Stoklosa Pharmaceutical Calculations book. e.g. w/v, v/v , molarity calculation, molality calculation etc...
Pharmacy
Practice & Clinical Pharmacy.
This section contains 15 MCQs and is covered easily when you study Lippincott's Pharmacology completely.
In 1-2 MCQs, Brand Names of different generics are asked. Skip these or the best method to answer them is "hit and trial" or you may say "akar bakar" :-).
Compiled MCQs from Prevoius Exams.
My personal experience is that you must memorize these MCQs on fingr tips because approx 10-15 MCQs came from these collection of MCQs.
These Compiled MCQs also give you an idea that what kind of questions are asked in SLE or Prometric.

Special Note:-
I provided above material and suggestions with full honesty. In my honest opinion Lippincott's Pharmacology, 400+ MCQs, Abbrevations and Calculations are more than enough to prepare and pass the Saudi Licensing Exam. And I hope that whoever has passed the exam , will agree with me.
Any how I wish you best of the best luck for your prep and exam.

Muhammad Ch.
